Like always I find something that I never saw and the link does not carry any information....

So back to the expert crowd :-)

Looks almost like a Centaurus powered TBM! Curious... Never seen that either.

Interesting...tks : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairey_Spearfish

Seems somewhat influenced by the success of the Avenger.

AKA an evolution like the Guardian or even the Aichi B7A2 Ryusei. Bigger engine = bigger payload

How about something in a really big single engine bird....Vultee XA-41.

Here's something similar and on my shortlist of the world's ugliest aircraft:

My vote for the most aesthetically pleasing aircraft would be the Japanese designs. Italians also design attractive aircraft. Some of the ugliest designs ever are of British, Russian and American design. The British took it to an art form.

Everyone has made their share of ugly aircraft. No nation is exempt or has a lock on "prettiest" title holders.

Sounds like a good idea for a new topic, ugliest aircraft...

At the time there was a saying "If it looks good, it probably flies pretty good." Can't think off hand of a particular ugly Japanese design. (Regardless of their performance in combat.) The Germans tended to make very nice designs that got uglier as they were adapted for various missions.
Except for the Spitfire, Chipmunk, and a few De havilland designs, the Brits loved to design aircraft that looked ungainly, had lots of bumps, antennas and speed robbing struts, antennas and wires. . Their aircraft also tend to be "portly" or thick in the middle, lacking in streamlining and weight savings.

We're getting into pretty subjective territory here, but allow to make a few suggestions...

Kyushu K11W..makes an O-47 look sleek...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyushu_K11W

The Nakajima Ki-115 dedicated Kamikaze type looks like something built by a homebuilder who was kicked out of the EAA for lack of aptitude...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_Ki-115

Aichi B7A
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aichi_B7A

The Nakajima Kikka looks like a Me 262 where something was lost in the translation from German to Japanese...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_Kikka

And a mid-engined monstrosity, the Yokosuka R2Y (which sounds like a Navy Consolidated transport)...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokosuka_R2Y

In short, for every looker like the Ki-61 Hein or J2M Raiden, the Japanese aircraft produced several types that looked like standard mid-late 30s designs. Not ugly, but functional in the BT-13 idiom.

Just take a look at either of the the Francillon or Mikesh books, you'll see what I'm referring to.

Sorry John...have to disagree on the Aichi B7A :-)

But yes....it is pretty subjective....lol....

Love that AC look.....one of my favorite WW2 naval AC.
