Frank Schelling's lovely Schellville-based 1917 Curtiss JN-4H Jenny, powered by a Wright-built 150hp Hispano-Suiza. According to its usual pilot, Eric Presten, this gives it quite a spritely performance in comparison with the earlier 90hp JN-4D. It took Frank 31 years to restore, and deservedly won Grand Champion Antique at Oshkosh in 2004. The colours are of a US Navy example.

My thanks go to Frank and Eric for taking the time to show me over this lovely aeroplane last week. It is only insured to fly for 6 months of the year, from April on (once the grass strip at Schellville has dried out sufficiently to allow its safe operation), so I'll definately be back to see it fly later in the year.
