This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

How did you happen to make your way here? Just curious.

I was searching for information about the Collings Foundation and my search engine brought up a posted topic about them. A few months later I joined and have been a active poster ever since.

Scott,
Just typed in Warbird on a search engine to see what would come up. Warbird Resource came up and followed to this site. Best I've seen so far!

I'm not sure how I found the board, but I responded or asked a question, or something to a question about buried Phillipine P-38's a couple three years ago. A very cool poster sent me a couple of pics that his uncle had taken at that time.
The board changed to this format shortly thereafter. I registered right after that.

I have forgotton how long ago it was but a guy by the name of Dave McDonald introduced me to the Warbirds Worldwide forum, and what a fantastic forum it was. When WW closed down the lost souls migrated to the Vintage Aviator forum, which was unfortunately short lived. It was then that Scott threw us a life line and we came aboard onto the great ship WIX. We have been picking passengers ever since.
Thanks Scott.

Two sources: The Proxy and Referrer logs.
I was curious about some web board that was sending us 250-300 hits per month. I was also wondering if there were YAM members that frequented the board, since there seemed to be some outgoing traffic coming here.
Background for those interested: When you click on a link to a web site, the site that "referred" you shows up in the logs of the site you're going to. WIX is always in the top three referring sites to yankeeairmuseum.org since we switched web hosts in April of '05, and has been the top site several times. This month WIX missed being the top site by exactly 2 visitors, being beaten out by clickondetroit.com, the website of the local NBC news affiliate station. A link to the site was featured on their front page. Final score was 331 to 329. (The 331 came over the course of only seven days.)
Strangly enough, the #2 site that always shows up comes from a subdomain of ne.jp. There was a full translation of the old site on their page, now they just link to us. Apparently the Japanese love their warbirds. I couldn't tell you, since I can't read Japanese.

I was referred to the WIX in an off-board email on the Warbird Index forum. Since then I've absolutely ignored that one because this one is far better
