New US Navy policy on loans, transfer etc.

Wed May 29, 2019 10:33 am

Sorry if already posted, but potentially great news to see the new US Navy policy on artifact sharing, exchange, trades, loans etc. Seems the new director, Admiral Cox directly responsible for the change via SECNAV instruction 5755.2B signed 11 April 2019. Way to go Admiral.

This could be a game changer with lake and ocean recoveries, trades etc. I note in paragraph 5.D:

The DON may accept the following property or services through an exchange:
(1) Similar items;
(2) Conservation supplies, equipment, facilities, or systems;
(3) Search, salvage, or transportation services;
(4) Restoration, conservation, or preservation services; or
(5) Educational programs.

Perhaps some pairing up to salvage a few aircraft recently found in the Pacific?!
