Is this their typical deal, no data plate, no logbooks or other airworthiness certifications?

The Northrop YC-125 they are also excessing has the dataplate but no logs. They say it is not suitable for flight, whatever that means.

Here is the solicitation data sheets for the two aircraft.

Is the NMUSAF finally backing off a bit from an apparent ambition to retain a specimen of everything the USAF ever flew?

Wowee! Not being fluent at all in Legalese, reading that document made my one eye cross and my stomach did a few turns! Is this agreement similar to the one that the people who had the P/F-82 repossessed? If I understand correctly, there were not supposed to restore that one to airworthy. When they did the AF took it back as it was in violation of their agreement. Sorry if I sound confused (I am)...even reading something in Legalese puts me in a tizzy :(

Wasn't there some controversy with the way they acquired this one in the first place?

At least this agreement (appears to) makes the sale outright with title transferring. No "loan" or "bailment" or other legalese for backsies.

Thanks. I remember now; I knew there was something there but couldn't remember and the search function here doesn't work.

Would be sad as you just never know where things will end up...but the rate they restore things makes Weeks look fast.

Maybe a former or inactive WIXer will buy this?

I can't say I blame them, the A-25 wasn't a huge success in the AAF.

Better it go to a place where it can be shown as a SB2C...an under-represented type.

I hoped to see it go on display near the A-24.

After re reading the old thread this morning, it's pretty disappointing that it was so hastily removed from the original restorer when he was near completion, only to have it sit for 11 years and then be put up for sale/trade because they no longer want it for the collection.

I just can't believe nobody's giving the YC-125 any love, one of the loveliest aircraft of all time. :hide:

Gotta excuse me, I happen to have personal experience with one of the things, and still have the scars on my retinas to prove it. Still, how I would love to see - and hear - one flying today. Call me a glutton for punishment.
