It happened, in 1997 at Nellis AFB, for the US Air Force 50th Anniversary. The Thunderbirds, The Blue Impulse team from Japan, and several teams from South America.
The Blue Impulse had not performed in the US before and some of the routine had to be modified due to US regs, with very little practice they flew a amazing routine. The Thunderbirds had their asses handed to them on their home field
