Let's just say this one is NOT located in California and I photographed it today. This is the sole survivor of the series.

Is it one of those Vought "Flying Pancake" things? Looks like a US built, twin engine job to me, at least.

It doesnt look like our inflato plane cockpit.

yeah, Dan, I think you're right . The twin throttle levers on the quadrant bothered me. I thought maybe some one might have stuck a throttle knob on the mixture lever.

I'd like to reconsider and agree with Dan.

V-173 Flying Flapjack, yup...look at the covered window frame at the bottom of the cockpit.

Nice site BTW

Which does prompt a question.....Imagine if POF had it in their inventory instead of the Smithsonian ????? They did put the Northrop back in the air

Man, you guys are awesome! I am humbled. I have underestimated the WIX once again- less than 8 hours. I had to give a lot more hints on the Moraine Saulnier...

Yes, V-173 it is!

yeah, but those from the 'Old World' have the handicap that such weird things with wings as the V-173 are not exactly located in our neighbourhood - never were.......

I shall throw in a nice "Urpeein Challenge" soon - watch out !
