With great sadness I just read on ezell aviations Facebook page that Nelson has passed away. Very sad day for the warbird community.

Sad news.
I had the privilege of doing two broadcast news stories on his work.
I'll always remember the low flypast he did in the Seafire MK.47 for my cameraman.

He, and his family, were among the nicest people I've met in...or out of...aviation.

Blue Skies and Rest in Peace...
And condolences to his family, employees and his countless friends.

Very sad to read this news, a man with a great reputation that I'm sure stretched all the way around the warbird world.

RIP.

I heard so many people say that Nelson was so very skilled and so wonderful to know and work with.
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
No doubt, he and Howard are having a hell of a time together

Godspeed sir.

Back in the heyday of the Breckenridge Air Show, Nelson's hangar was "ground zero" for the warbird crews' activities, and Nelson's generosity and hospitality were second to none. Some great parties took place there!

Sad loss of a great man.

Blue skies and tailwinds, Nelson!

The service for Nelson today was very nice as a lot of people came from all over the county to wish him farewell. There were a lot of stories about him as well as pictures. Afterwards there was a T-28 flyby, a group of T-6's and Stu Dawson in his Sea Fury, Robert Garriott in his P-51 and Dr. Winters P-51 put on a great show as well. He will be deeply missed by all.
