Very nice Dave! I spent the afternoon hanging out at the airport in Gatineau. I got similar pictures of it arriving. It sure does look sharp.

What a change to see a camo P51 instead of polished metal and in rcaf markings to boot! Hats off to the owener and Sky Harbour for painting her up to represent a RCAF machine

The picture of the stack fire is great! You took the picture at the milisecond to get all the flame. I have seen these fires hundreds of times, but beleive this is the first picture I have seen to capture it at the right moment. You ought to be able to sell that one.

Sorry, I just have to ask the question:
Yellow anti-glare panel?
I'm not questioning the authenticity of the scheme (truth be told, I rather like it), but does anyone know of a practical reason why this area would be painted anything other than, oh, I don't know...flat black or olive drab maybe? Did the RCAF stumble across a more advantageous color?

Regarding the yellow anti-glare panel. RCAF.com has some color profiles on their site and it does show 442 sqn did carry those markings. According to the history section of 442 sqn (same site) the squadron was deployed to Hunsdon UK, sqn code Y2.(But why the yellow anti-glare? ....I guess somebody thought it looked good)

Yellow nose&canopy frame ...it would stand out during squadron form-up
and against other '51's of different nationalities in the ETO. Remember too,
several of the 361st FG P-51's sported yellow noses..."Lou IV" and "Ferocious Frankie"
come immediatetly to mind. The yellow placed along the spine & canopy
would stand away from other yellows...just thinking aloud...
Edit..and we ain't even mentioned the German yellows...Adolph Galland for
one.

Outstanding. Thanks for taking the time to attend for those of us who could not be there. Really looking forward to seeing this aircraft this year. It sure would look nice at Geneseo.

Outstanding photos Sir !!
I love the one of you capturing the exhaust stack fireball. Timing is everything

. You don't see many Mustangs dressed in cammo colors. Looks like quite a good looking bird !
