1943 British RAF Emergency Flying Ration MK 2

Sun Jul 18, 2021 12:10 pm

Every once in awhile I stumble across a YouTube channel that focuses on stuff that I hadn't really thought much about but in retrospect is a really interesting subject from a historical perspective.

Steve1989MREInfo is one of those channels. This gentleman is a downright nutter when it comes to military rations and will eat just about anything. His episodes cover rations from nearly any era including field rations, emergency rations etc.

I chose to share one that would appeal to the demographic of this form but all of them are interesting. Check em out.

We had an Emergency Ration pack that was damaged back in the 1980's at NEAM. It had several Hersey's Tropical Chocolate bars and one got a tear in the paper wrapper so we both tried it! It was hard, but still tasted like chocolate, though the moisture level of the Chocolate was very low so it wouldn't melt in the tropics.
