Which one would you want to ride in, just thought it would be fun to see what people would go for.
P-82 you would sit a cockpit by yourself.
P-51 has a stick and ruder peddles in the back so you could fly it.

The last two I was in did not, in fact apart from TF-51s I can only think of a few that do.

I chose the P-82 because of the rarity and it is member of the Mustang family anyway.

Just curious....
Does the P-82 has dual controls ???
Or is one the Nav & the other the pilot ?

Depends -- are we doing aerobatics?
The P-82 cockpits are several feet away from the roll axis of the airplane. If we're going to be doing rolls, it could be hard on my stomach. I might take a pass.
Unless Bob Hoover is doing the flying.

Then I probably won't even notice.

I don't know . . . , I think I'd probably prefer to get a ride in an He-111Z.

P-82 by far!
To put it in perspective, Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and you can buy a ride in some of those. A chance to ride in a P-82 is something I couldn't pass up.

It is his fantasy, he can have it any way he wants!

Early escort fighter variants (like the one in USAFM) had both cockpits with full controls so pilots could trade on long trips. Night fighters replaced one with a radar set.
