Nobody’s Home

It might be a bit of a stretch to post this in the Warbird category, but Blackhawks are definitely combat aircraft. This article appeared today on the Fire Aviation website.

As someone who had fewer proper landings in Army helicopters than I had takeoffs from my active duty days (with crews up front), I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near this thing until it's on the ground with the engines off...

A couple of months ago I was going to the CASC in Stratford, and had to go into the Stratford Army Engine Plant (aka old Vought-Sikorsky plant) and this UH-60 was being tested across the street. Pretty much in the same airspace where Sikorsky tested the VS-300 rigorously. Sikorsky has been renting out Hangar 4 (part of the two sets of two hangars that Vought originally built during the war) and have few Blackhawks in there. Exciting stuff still happening at our airport!

Thinking about autonomous aircraft and road vehicles...."Wait'll the hackers get ahold of this!" pop2
