Yes, those hangars do look like Falcon Field.
I did my graduate work at ASU circa 1990, Doug Champlin was kind enough for me to do a project there, so I got to spend some time with him and his collection.

As Far as ads go, I know of some print, not TV ones you might remember. A 1977 Oldsmont Tornado XSR.
However, that version of the Toronado was never built, GM pulled the plug at the last minute because the
power T-tops could not be made water tight (that never stopped them before!).
They did make a Tornado XS with that distinctive rear window, few were built. Most, if not all, had a power moonroof. A friend has two for sale, found in a barn among a farmer's hoard of 70s luxury cars.
Here is a Mustang with a '72 Olds Toronado.
The paint scheme is pretty typical for the pre-warbird paint era. Looks like the scheme Cavalier used. The colors remind me to the copper seen on the Fornoff's Bearcats.
Also, in the '90s, Buick did a print ad with a polished CW-22.
I believe the photo was taken at Santa Rosa.
