Will a reply fron Engalnd be any use ? I was over at Hawthorne Airport 2 weeks ago to ride with the Collings Foundation 
Hanging out at the NATS Cafe over 2 days ~ the future of the museum and indeed the airport was a recurring topic of conversation.
Most people I spoke with thought that maybe the hike in rent for the musuem is only the thin end of the wedge. With its close proximity to LAX ~ Hawthorne airport represents a large and attractive piece of land that any developer would love to get their hands on ........
I was reluctant to post this when I read your first message ~ who wants to be the bearer of "bad" news ? I think this may be why you didn't get any replies from the folks in California
Could it be they would be better off re-locating to somewhere nearby ~ say Long Beach ? What are Boeing doing with the '717 facitilies for example ? ( Just a thought )
