Crusader on the rocks

An F-8D Crusader/Bu. 148709/AE-201 of VF-132 had a power failure on take off from NAS Leeward Point, Guantanamo Bay Cuba and ended up on the rocks, April 25, 1962.

"148709...(VF-132 as AE-201) ran off runway ended up on the rocks on takeoff from Leeward Point Field, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba April 25, 1962."
So, apparently SOC.
No word on pilot. It looks like he ejected. Hopefully it had a zero-zero seat.

Ha! I was actually the one who suggested to Baugher that he add the airframe to his list back in 2012 and it was based on a version of this photograph I found in a different thread! Guess it's come full circle!

At the risk of being labelled a pedant, this aircraft would have been an F8U-2NE in 1962.
