Dayton Air Show A/C...

Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:16 am

Here's a link to the "performers" page of the Vectren Dayton AirShow web site, indicating scheduled aircraft (flying & static), for the July 29 & 30 air show.

http://www.daytonairshow.com/performances.html

Since the Miami Valley RTA bus has a stop at the NMUSAF, the museum is encouraging people to park at the museum and take the bus to the air show...also a good way to see the museum...maybe schedule (in advance) a "Behind The Scenes Tour" to check up on Memphis Belle and the Beaufighter??

I think they should open up the hanger doors and roll some of their collection out for some fresh air  (I know, not likely...at all, but we can dream! )

NMUSAF Warbirds out in the fresh air, did you say?

Someone here posted pictures of NMUSAF A/C when they did their new building & exhibit shuffle a while back. There were lot's of A/C outside during the shuffle.

Come to Oshkosh that weekend if you are interested in Warbirds 8) ....

The last two years there hasn't been that many warbirds. Ever since 03 the aircraft list has gotten smaller and smaller.

It’s true that the Warbird count at Osh has been in decline for a number of years (Since well before '03). That said Osh will certainly play host to far more Warbirds than what Dayton has listed! It seems clear that the folks at Dayton are more interested in hosting modern equipment than warbirds. That’s fine, different strokes for different folks. I prefer 100LL being turned into noise with a lope over kerosene and wizzy-whine any day!
