Scott: New P-51 entry for warbird registry

In the thread on "P-51 Flying question?" Swiss Mustangs posted a photo of the P-51 Sweet and Lovely, I didn't see it listed in the registry. I found info on it at mustangsmustangs.

Of note, this A/C is painted in the Blue Nose color's of Lt. Bill Pattillo, 487th FS, 352nd FG.
He and his twin brother Buck Pattillo both flew with the 352nd FG.
In April of 1945 Bill is credited with shooting down a ME-262. He was later shot down by
ground fire and spent the rest of the war as a POW.

Later both Pattillo brothers flew as part of the original U.S. Air Force
Thunderbirds demonstration team. Each became a General.

Cool. A close friend of mine was Bill Pattillo's F-80 and F-84 crew chief with the Skyblazers in Europe 1950-52. He passed away earlier this year; I wonder if he ever got to see this restoration.

Yeah when I spoke to Buck and Bill earlier this year, Bill said he had just talked to Bob Baker on the phone and the next restoration he hopes to do is Buck's P-51 'Little Rebbel'.
Is that how you spell rebbel, rebel?
