This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Aloha Paul,
In the list of BT-13A serials is:
"42-42432 -Pilot Cornilai C Fort Crashed and lost 10 miles south of Merkel, Texas 3/21/1943(Jim Blanton, Denton, Tx)" Crash location is correct...here are some details:
The plane was accepted for delivery from Abilene, Texas for delivery to Enid, Oklahoma with one scheduled stop at Love Field, Dallas, Texas. The WAFS pilot was Cornelia Clark Fort, killed in the crash.
Patsy Cline was returning to "Cornelia Fort Air Park", Nashville, TN, when she was killed in a plane crash.
Cornelia Fort was airborne over John Rogers Field, Oahu, HI, training her student 'touch and go' procedures, when Akagi Zeros attacked that location on 7 Dec 1941.
Cheers,
David Aiken
