Hey, is this beauty airworthy? If it is a static and educational restoration that is very cool as well. The concept of the overnight deal for kids is really neat.

Either way, you have spent an amazing amount of time, love, and effort to have a wonderful piece of history preserved. Am a bit partial to these as my Pops also flew these. He was a bit of a fanatic during and after the war and his list of aircraft started with P-40's, 47's and 38's and end with KC-97's and B-47's. Oh yeah, throw a couple rotary wing aircraft in there as well.

Nice job on a beautiful aircraft!

My Dad was a Navigator Instructor on Charlie 119s at Ellington AFB Houston when I was little. His flight pay helped to support us while he was in dental school. This was the aircraft that started me down the dark path of warbirds.

I was in the SAC C-119 a couple of years ago and they have done a magnificent job on bringing her back to her former glory. Sadly like all aircraft owned by the NMUSAF as a loaner aircraft she is not allowed to be operational.

Looks good!!! My old man use to fly the dollar 19 as an air tanker and was lucky enough to not have a wing failure. I also have a fondness for the airplane and would love to see one on the airshow circuit.

Hi all,

My father Crew Chiefed for the Wing Commander of his base during the Korean War, out of Germany....I'll send him the weblink on this one....last time he saw one was at Oshkosh when H&P brought one plus their very rare C-82 (?). He said it felt like he never left after seeing those birds.
