looks like a single engined canopy on the bird!!! never saw 1 in that variation.

uh,...single engine canopy ? Maybe you meant a single seat canopy ?
Those variants are photo recce aircraft and would be single seat.

The PR.9's may have a 'single seat' canopy offset to one side, but they are not single seat, they have a crew of 2.....

From the British aircraft company....
Pilot under fighter type canopy offset to port side of fuselage. Navigators seat totally enclosed in nose.
That's not a ride I would want very often......

Imagine the money you could save offering warbird rides in it. Just start the engines and have the ground crew rock the wings a bit....They're you go...enjoy your flight?

You might want to check your facts- some turbines burn as much on the ground at idle as they do at altitude.
