F111 no wheels landing

Seems he lost a wheel on take off , good news is he got it down ok :)

Didn't even know that they were still flying them. I find it strange that the report says that they flew around for hours to burn off fuel when the F-111 has the ability to dump fuel. It would make a very large stream of flame behind the aircraft. I saw them do it a couple of times at air shows back in the late 80's when I was stationed at RAF Croughton in the UK

The Aussies did it at the closing of the Olympic Games at Sydney.

While the aircraft was burning off fuel, the options were being explored in the simulator. It paid off!
