Hey Folks
Just heard some sad news from a friend in TX- It seems both the LSFM Hurricand and SPit which I was counting on seeing at Thunder Over Michigan won't be ready in time and so neither will be leaving the hanger this summer. Damn- I was really looking forward to seeing them togehter.
(Probaly means Oshksosh is out too?)
Anyone else have any news on what is going on. I heard something about bad Fuel tanks on the spit and the Hurricane is in the paint shop still?
Thanks

RE the Lone Star Hurricane, it has been restored by QG Aviation (Ray Middleton,Tim Fries ,etc.) the same place that has serviced my Spitfire over the last 23 years, and the shop that rebuilt the award winning Fairey Firefly. The Hurricane was about a 10 year project and was finished a few months ago, less paint. Due to a delay with paperwork, it wasn't picked up for awhile so by the time it was flown to Texas to the paint shop it was too late to make Oshkosh. It looks good even bare and this rare and important bird will be worth the wait. I'd love a chance to fly it, very carefully! I am a Lone Star member, a native Texan and saw the Spit at their Spring show when the were rebuilding the fuel tank. Bill G
