This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Oh my God... I was just looking at the photo from WSOC-TV...

The aft fuselage has "-222" on it... I fear that it might be Flying Fossils' F-86 based at Hickory, NC where the crash took place.

Anyone know who their pilot was?

I think I am going to be sick!
Why do F-86's always seem to crash?

Dammit.
Dammit, dammit, dammit.
Yet another Sabre bites the dust, killing yet another dedicated enthusiast and leaving his friends and family grieving.
Echoing another poster... why do these things have such problems? Steve Snyder, Jimmy Rossi, now this one... and there's at least two others I'm leaving out... what's the story? Are Sabres that delicate?
Saddened and frustrated with another tragic loss of life and the destruction of another gorgeous aircraft...

And Dave Zeuschal... High performance aircraft are not very forgiving.
Let's patiently wait for the accident report and see what can be learned from this unfortunate incident.
