Warbird Sites Near Williamsburg, VA

I'm taking my wife and daughters to Williamsburg, VA to visit some of their old friends on Thursday and Friday. I should have some time to explore aviation sites by myself. I plan to see the Virginia Air and Space Center at Langley for the first time and I've been to the Virginia Aviation Museum in Richmond. Are their any other "open to the public" sites I should see in the Williamsburg - VA Beach area? Is there any hope getting access to the Fighter Factory for a mere mortal enthusiast such as myself?

By the way, there is an air-park near Hampton Roads as well. I haven't been there, but there are supposed to be quite a few interesting outdoor aircraft exhibits.

On Friday we will be departing from the Franklin airport at about 9 AM with our Grumman Tracker. At the Hampton Roads airport is our Lockheed C-60 that we are starting restoration on after our landing incident. As far as Fighter Factory, I was out there last week and they had a sign out front showing their hours of operation. What I would recommend doing though, is going to their website and email or call them letting them know who you are and see if it is possible to drop by there. The worst they could say is no. They only currently have the Catalina, 2 SNJ's, Corsair, AD, Stearman, ME-108, P-51, P-40, Tigermoth, V-1, TBM, and L-5 out at Pungo. Most everything else is at Suffolk still. Don’t forget to check out the Fort Eustis Army museum, great place with lots of cool airframes. The Hampton Roads site also has a lot of great aircraft. From what I remember the Virginia Aviation Museum was also a good shoot.
