Vlado Beats the Heat at Scott AFB Air Show!

Sat Sep 02, 2006 10:21 pm

Vlado sure looks hot, waiting to take off on this hot August day.....

But he sure looked cool a few minutes later!

Too much heat for clear shots of planes taxiing. However, I got a few passable warbird pics from the show.

Thank you!
I thought the bombers flew an interesting & 'dynamic' flyby pattern during their part of the show. They were fun to watch!

Vlado,

Your routine was a complete joy to watch. Unfortunately, my photography that day wasn't quite good enough to keep up with Moonbeam doing aerobatics! The bombers and fighters flying "racetrack" photo passes were a little easier to shoot.

As a photographer, I've learned to expect good aircraft displays when Ralph Royce is the airboss. I lived in Houston for five years and saw a lot shows where he was boss. I was never disappointed except when we got rained out.

Thanks for sharing your pictures! The ones of the knife edge passes by the MiG and B-17 are especially cool.
