Twas another sad day for the CAF. I flew a good bit with Vernon Thorpe & Walter Wooten in our B-23. I thought they were some of the finest pilots around. God Rest the souls of all involved. What a loss!

I couldn't believe it back then. Starting in 1990 I had done some research and writing in some publications on Marauder survivors and had some great friends in the Marauder veterans family. The type had become one of my favorite types and I'd had some incredible experiences with people and the Chino airplane . I was totally devastated, Wooton was a friend of my uncle's. This one really hit home.

Thanks for the reminder John.

RIP, especially Colin and Chris. Gone, but not forgotten.

They only flew it once at Airsho 86, I was nearby taking pics also when that shot was taken, thanks for sharing! My pics are all in storage or I'd do the same.

John, you beat me to posting a rememberance of Carolyn, Vernon, Walter, Tom, Colin, & Chris. RIP, never forgotten here either.

Thanks for posting, and thanks to those who've chimed in. I miss her, and my friends, terribly. Adding to it, I lost my mom exactly 2 months post-Carolyn. 1995 sucked on ice.

This was always my favorite pic of Carolyn, taken by Tom Griffith:
