Not so.......it lost its engine and tail when pulled up from depth, but has not be touched since then and is substantially intact.
Check Classic Wings 49 for a picture taken just after that event., before it got covered in sand.

Saw the pics on the Flypast forum, still looks well battered.
I'd happily eat my words but I doubt they will have much to show when it's all cleaned up.
I hope it's NOT a wargrave either. The Ju52 the Greeks pulled up recently was, they found at least one wedding ring in it, I wonder if it was traceable to a crew-member (engraved) ?

Crew is missing so that is unknown, if it turns out to be, well the remains will be repatriated. A ring was found in the Ju-52 from one of the paratroopers that didn't make it and IIRC it wasn't possible to trace the owner as it had first names on it, he was buried with full military honours. The HAF are not stupid, they have limited funding and don't waste money on recoveries that are not viable.

Umm..maybe lost during the crash or subsequent trawling up from 100m.

Spats on the Ju-87 were also sometimes simply removed during operational use.
