Proper paint for Drop Tanks

All,

I am in need of some history on proper paint for my Skyraider. I have finished overhauling my Aero 1A 150 gal drop tanks and want to paint them properly to match my airplane.

Question - would the drop tanks have been painted to match the airframe or would all drop tanks been painted the same color and interchanged among airframes? Gray or Glossy Sea Blue? Please advise.
