That's great news! The Beau is so cool looking.
BTW, I don't care what the revisionists call it now, the place is the Air Force Museum, and I will never, ever, ever call it the National Air, uh, Museum . . . , uh, Air Force, . . . of something!*

That's fantastic. It really looks great. One thought that had never crossed my mind before when looking at a picture of a Beau but for some reason struck me almost immediately tonight was Henschel 129.

fyi.........the hs - 129 had such a small cockpit that i believe at least 2 or at most 3 cockpit instruments were mounted ahead of the wind screen on the exterior of the airframe. learned this fact from building a model of the type years ago.

that pic gives good perspective. check out the cannon gun housing under the pilots left arm!!!! the noise & recoil must have been enough to shatter his dental work & pop his ear drums!!!! plus there was the equivilent armament on the opposite side.......... not to mention the big tank buster gun protruding dead center at the nose & the breech sitting under his keester. that thing must have knocked his nads off!!! think of all three weapon stations firing in sinc!!! it speaks for the hs 129's structural integrity, & in such a close vicinity to the pilot!!!!

The Beaufighter is a composite restoration based on T5049 ( RAAF A19-43) the hulk of which was recovered by Moorabbin Aircraft Museum, Melbourne in 1971.
Beaufighter Mk.Ic RAAF A19-43 flew 38 missions with No.31 Squadron of the RAAF at Coomalie Creek near Darwin on the northern coast of Australia from 20 June 43 to 12 March 44. These missions included 20 convoy escorts, 10 strike missions, 1 aborted mission, 3 search missions and 4 training.
