Forgotten photos, Corsair & Mustang

I had a request for some photos today and got digging thru many years
worth of prints and negatives.
While looking I found a couple of things I had almost forgotten, thought
I'd share them.
The first is the CAF Corsair at Frederick Md. sometime in the 90s.
It is in a paint scheme worn till about 2000.
This used to be one of my favorite airshows. Sadly, no longer held.
Some years got pretty hot there, you can see how brown the grass was.

The second photo is of P-51, 44-72086 Baby Duck.
It was taken at the Autumn Warbird Airshow in Dutchess Co. NY
Another good show no longer held. I haven't seen this a/c in many years now.
Anybody have an update? I believe being restored in Pa.
I have a good photo of the nose art somewhere I'll try to find.

Ahhh the infamous #13. My dad worked out at Vought in Grand Prairie, TX when #13 was originally rebuilt after it was brought in from South America, and I've got several pix of when it was rolled out. He was also there when Paul Thayer, Chairman of the Board crashed it the first time after the engine stalled from him flying inverted too long, as well as when Paul crashed it the second time again from pilot error.

I don't remember for sure, but isn't she painted as #300 now?

I used to love the Frederick shows... they were very close to where I live, and got more interesting each year they had them. It was very sad when they shut down, but the squabbles between the local CAF team, and the FBO manager got too much in the end... not to mention the internal CAF squabbles, but enough on that.

Not sure where the P-51 is now, but Mustangs-Mustangs notes that she is under restoration for a gentleman in Philadelphia. It is interesting to note that this aircraft (or the data plate at least) actually served with the 8th AF during the latter stages of WWII.

I am not sure but I think I remember "Baby-Duck" being at one of the Wings of Eagles airshows in Elmira Ny. I remember thinking how ironic that there were two P-51's with simular nose art there, "Baby Duck" and P-51D "Donald".

I've been trying to find out about Baby Duck for a long time now. It's supposedly based at Northeast Philly airport, along with Jim Beasley's mustangs. He has in fact confirmed that in an email correspondance. I asked what's there because I live about 15 minutes from the airport. It is owned (last I heard) by a Dr. Joe Scogna, who is a neuro-surgeon in the area here. Both my wife and my mother are nurses, so I have them on the look out for the gentleman in the local hospitals if they can ever just get a minute with him!! I believe when you look up the owner it comes up as Vintage Air Ltd, Yardley, PA.

Also, the same Vintage Air Ltd. apparently owns a Spitfire as well, Mk. IX, MH603, which is listed in an old Flight Journal Spitfire magazine as under restoration.
