Good News from Vintage Wings of Canada... Swordfish

The former Spence family Swordfish arrived today in Gatineau. On hand were a number of excited staff, happy volunteers and a few thrilled veterans seeing a Stringbag for the first time in many years.
The fuselage arrived shrink wrapped on a flat bed truck. Written on the plastic on the rear fuselage was a message to Mr. Potter from the Spence family. The message ended with "Don't forget Ernie!"
The Vintage Wings staff are hoping for a first flight some time next summer.

I don't think they are planning on acquiring anything multi-engined. If they were I would be suggesting a Beaufighter to everyone I could at Vintage Wings.

Mike, if you need any info on that Beaufighter, just ask Oz. He can tell you it's faster than a Me262, outturns a Zero, outclimbs a Spit, has more guns than a battleship, is better looking than Nicole Kidman, never snores, is housebroken, and doesn't eat much. It would be neat to see one flying. Say hello to Mike and Tim for me.

I am sure they are well aware of that one. I don't think they are looking beyond single engine type. I'll print off a copy and leave it on the lunch room table "by accident".

Hi Mike--
Is that the Beau project that's on offer with two engines too many? Whatever would be the use of two more Bristol Hercules way out there in Ottawa?
While you're littering VWoC's staff room with downloads of ads, toss in one from Courtesy about the A-20G, too. All-black 418 Sqn intruder Bostons have not often been seen on the circuit...

The Canada Avaition Museum actually has one Bristol Hercules MKXVII on hand fo the restoration already.
There maybe a chance that they will get another MKXVII soon. This would certainly make the restoration more viable.
I certainly think that there is some interest as of late,in re-building the Beaufighter , or at least starting the process. Obviously the efforts of the NMUSAF on their Beaufighter, has sparked some interest.
