B 17 coming to australia?

Wed Nov 01, 2006 4:47 am

Rumours abound Liberty Bell coming to Australia on a tour or a outright purchase?

Sweet as if it's true :)

Well, the airplane hasn't been purchased!

It makes sense in a way; the owner already owns another B-17 and a sale of this nature would ensure it's expidited restoration to airworthy status. But of course it is just rumor.

Interestingly enough, it just taxied past my office widow here at Charleston about an hour ago. I hear they will be selling rides this weekend. Maybe I should go over and see if they need any help.

NEON,

Welcome back today, I spoke to a guy who knows another guys uncle's aunt that knows a guy in Australia that said....................

I figured someone would have scooped and posted the sale of Glacier Girl buy now.

Allegedly.

If the hints that have been dropped on another board turn out to be true, I'd keep a close eye on the Provenance website for more news.

Hmmm... just what have those Liberty Belle folks been up to all these many months?

WoW,

the prices just keep going up.

Yes, proportionate with direct operating expenses.

I'm fairly certain that the Liberty Belle has not been sold, although I only work here, nobody tells me nothin' :) Restoraion continues on the Dyke Lake B-17, although right now finishing the P-40 and getting it flying has priority.

I plan to be with the Liberty Belle at the Jacksonville stop next weekend.

Hello Chuck

Do you have some information about the restoration of the Dyke Lake B-17 ?
(I had found nothing in the web about it)

And Chuck ~ do you know if the Belle is spending the winter at Fantasy of Flight like last year ?

If she is about to head off to Australia in 2007 ~ this might be the last chance to take a ride for some time !
