Spangdahlem AB, Germany Static displays

Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:29 am

I came back through here yesterday on a round trip from the middle east so I figured I'd take pictures of the static displays.

Nice shots Brad! I am guessing that none of these are accessible to the public. Correct?

Either way I would like to include an entry in my aviation museum/site locator. What are the coordinates?

I just checked the location using Google Earth. They appear to be close to the main gate. Are they accessible to the public?

Nevermind Brad. I included an entry in the locator. For those who are interested the Germany section of the locator may be found at...

The whole locator is "under construction", but especially so for Europe and Germany. I have been using some placemark lists for Google Earth to populate the locator, and have not gotten around to using other museum lists yet. So you will see I don't know the names of the museums yet, but that is coming.

refreshingly surprising!!! i'd figure u.s. planes on display in the mideast would be deemed politically incorrect other than in israel.

Tom, they're at Spangdahlem AFB, Germany. Brad was returning from the M.E. and transiting through there.

I guess its a sign you are getting old when you see an actual aircraft you flew on a stick. Its a nice display but I hate to see her grounded.
