Why do I get a red 'x' and not a photo?

Sat Dec 02, 2006 2:31 pm

I sincerely hope that I am not the 1000th dummy to ask this question  , but I have been going through some archival postings and so far, most links still work and most photos appear. However, in some threads, like http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... php?t=4395
only two photos out of 10 actually appear. The others are all represented by red x's. Is this a result of accounts expiring at photo storage providers or ???

Wherever the photo's were originally hosted, they are no longer there. If I were to delete my photo's from photobucket, they would no longer appear in any postings I have put them in.

can i hijack a little here..
i post links to my pics using the img code however unlike other forums here the images don't show up.. just the urls. Is it because the links does not end in a valid image format extension such as .jpg.. thanks

Thanks for the info. It will keep me from spending a few hours thinking my computer was screwed up, or me.

That is probably the case. I check some of your previous posts and those that end in .jpg display correctly.
