Is anyone familiar with the TBM 53858 stored in Fredricton, New Brunswick, formerly C-GFPR and now F-WQON (expired). I see the entry in the registry, but wondered if someone had more first hand knowledge.
many thanks

I have a few pix of that one (and several others) from a visit to FPL in 2002. I think she may be one of the ones recently acquired by Steve Searle in Oz, but memory fails...I should be able to find prints of F-WQON to snailmail if you like, PM me if so.

Cheers

S.

I was searching this forum for the term "FPL" and found this post.

Yes, TBMN#4 - GFPR is still owned by Didier Chable of France and is still parked beside the FPL hangar in Fredericton NB, along with TBMs 10 (GFPT), 13 (GLEL) and 23 (FIMR). I believe he is trying to sell it. This as of 8 Feb 2007.

By the way, TBM#14 (GLEK) is still at the Woodmen's Museum in Boiestown NB. It is stored in the winter but is placed out on display on a pad beside Highway 8 during the summer where it is much photographed.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I found that one, but Google doesn't recognize their "street" address. Have you been there?

I've just been to the side of the highway and photographed the TBM. You might try Mapquest.

Hey snj5--

Interesting to see this thread reappear...You'd pm'd me your street address so I could snailmail some shots of Avenger F-WQON, but the envelope came back. Somewhere I've still got it. Address different since?

This A/C is still for sale or trade (advertised this month in french magasine "le fana de l'aviation" for 90 000 US $).
Still own by D.Chable. From what i was told, this A/C was bought as he needs a spare engine for its first Avenger flying here since a few years in Fleet Air Arm livery.

Are there any TBMs still for sale with FPL? If so are they the flying birds?

I spoke with FPL a few months ago and they told me that they still have 4 or so TBM's in their fleet, and are currently operating them. They also said that in the next few years they will probably be replacing them.

Which leads me to believe that there will be 4 available soon.

Cheers,

David
