I feel the same way about our PA ANG 111th FW A-10s at Willow Grove. I will be sad to see them go in a few years. Every time I see them flying over my house, I get a real sense of pride, and something special about my area (Philadelphia).

Are you just talking about the local ANG unit or the A-10 in general? I was under the impression the A-10 was under some kind of "service life extension program" (not sure of the official name) to keep the airframe flying for many years to come.

The A-10 fleet is getting two things - the A-10C upgrade to allow for the use of precision guided munitions and essentially an all new cockpit. Check out:
