I lived there in 89-91 to do my masters degree at ASU.
Bcak then there was still fun stuff at Falcon field...Marsh Aviation had a field full of S2Fs and H-19 it was tring to convert to turbines. And the Champlin Fighter Museum was great.

Aside from the CAF, there should be a couple of warbirds there..there were several T-28s ...fresh from D-M....back then.

Willians AFB was still open and they had some neat stuff at the main gate..including a F-80.

Chandler Mermorial (not the better known Municipal) is fun if you can get to it. A field full of H-19s, and firebombers including DC-4, 7s. and early C-130s.

Marsh is still going strong and still has a yard full of S2's and Hu-16s. They still convert the S2 to turbine power and there are usually a couple on the field. They are also upgrading some OV-10s for a Latin American country, don't recall which one at the moment. The Broncos are really nice when Marsh gets done with them.
