Just my taste, but I prefer a warbird that is restored like original, especially the cockpit area. The interior of a 40's era plane is so unique compared to modern ones that you miss a lot of the Wright Stuff aura if you go all modern. I have seen a number of T-34s, even T-6s and P-51s where you really could not tell if you were in a Cessna or a Learjet. Of course, I live in an area that has a lot of sunny weather. I can certainly see having a modern radio or perhaps nav unit, especially in the faster longer range planes.
