Now about the second photo you just posted: Do you happen to know if it is the Tony of Sgt. Matsumi Nakano after his B-29 ramming flight of Dec. 3, 1944?
Yes, tks for the info on Chiran...... I had forgotten

Neat shots, Michel...
So WIXers, does downing a B-29 by ramming and then bringing your plane back intact qualify you for instant STUD status, or what?!
Those must have been terribly desperate times.

Well, it certainly puts you in the running for luckiest person ever.

The 244 Sentai site has some good picks, there was one of a japanese fighter about 50ft away heading for a B29 with half a wing missing.
The pick was taken by one of the crew through the window,Man you would have your eyes shut waiting fore the hit.Check out their home page
Most of the KI-61 recoverys look a bit sad and a lot of the parts have been pilfered.
Or people who like to cut the Hinomaru's out of them with an axe then claim they are trying to save them.
It is verry hard to find technical drawings or parts you can measure or take a traceing of.
Even instruments and switches,i spose they are collector items and people admire them, can't blame them for that.
If it wasen't for the enthusiast there wouldn't be anything left.
