Made it over to Love Field "at Lunch" today to see the Collings birds.
Had a little chat with Jim (nice to meet you! )
Good crowd out there for a windy, cloudy, Monday..lots of Vets.
Sexy lady.
Some crew dogs at work (thanks to these guys for taking on this job)
Some Turret pics for John.
My Uncle's name on the B-24 bomb bay door. 465th BG 783rd BS. (Jones)
And this is what it is all about.
Had to help one old fella and his, not so young, son up into the B-17. He was a former radio operator.
He ended up on his back with his head under the cockpit floor. We got him turned around and up into the cockpit. He made it all the way through the airplane, with a sit down in the radio room. He had not been in a B-17 in 60 years. He had a great big smile on his face.
Here he is standing in front of '909.
This guy posing for a picture was a B-24 navigator in the Pacific.
