Thinking more about the question........

I've flown Cubs Champs Tigermoths Fleets Cherokee etc in reality anything I'm flying is a fav at that moment but Biplanes...now there is just something about evening flights, the setting sun framed between wires struts and wings, the wind in your face and the thump of an old engine coursing thru your body ...leather helmet and jacket ...goggles...... :D :)

I have a lot of favorites, but I think my choice would be... whatever I'm flying at the time! :D

well, I'm not sure but . . . round motors are great, but the upside down part trumps the radial.

I was told that your favorite airplane is always the one you're flying. In that case, a C-177 RG. Too bad it isn't a warbird.

But for all-time-coolest-bar-none-favorite-airplane, it *has* to be the XB-70.

Second to that is the Avro Arrow. Guess I have a soft spot for fast deltas that never got a chance to prove themselves...

k5dh....what a nice pic of Chuckie against the pretty sky....you did well if you were the photog.

Thanks for the compliment :D . I shot that image just before sunrise on December 14, 2006. Chuckie was parked out on the ramp in front of the hangar, facing south, and we were getting her ready for the short hop from Meacham to DFW for their annual Aviation Career Fair. The "dawn's early light" effect was perfect! I'll have to admit, that is one of my better images. 8)

BTW, you may not realize it, but you and I have met several times, both at the VFM hangar and at a couple of local car shows.

Cheers!

Yes I know. k5dh....I'm seeing all kinds of old friends on this Board, Haven't been up there with the plane for a bit...although have been there by 4 wheeler. Lookin forward to the season starting again and flying more. Jimbo asked me to come up with the plane for that DFW hop but alas I had to work at my real day job that day. Probably see y'all sometime soon.
