Hi,

Would anyone have some thoughts as to the ID's of the
two FM-2 Wildcats hired for the 1976 Charlton Heston
film, Midway (aka: Battle of Midway)?

This film made much use of stock and newsreel footage
but two Wildcats were brought in to film fresh vision of
crews manning planes.

A PBY-6A and Grumman Duck were also hired, ID's?

Thank you
Simon Beck

I think the Grumman Duck was the same one used in the TV show, "Black Sheep Squadron". Seen it many times.

One FM-2 was Rudy Frasca's and the other, I think was still owned by Junior Burchinal at the time. It is now owed by Howard Pardue.

The PBY-6A was the second CAF Catalina, N16KL.
