Somebody beat me to it in the events section but...Y'all come to the West Houston Open House at IWS this weekend.

There will be rides (reasonably priced) in... an AT-6, a BT-13 (If they got the scissors bracket back in the landing gear) a PT-19, a PT-17, and some fly-ins from Tora, LSFM and who knows what else. :D

Hey Spanner, I am bringing a few WWII vets to meet with the public.

P-38 pilot Col. Ben Mason, Deputy Group Commander of the 82nd F.G. He led this mission to Ploesti!
DAWN: JUNE 10, 1944. The great complex of air bases near Foggia, Italy, bustles with activity as the sun rises. Forty-six 82nd FG Lockheed P-38J Lightnings from the 95th, 96th and 97th Fighter Squadrons, each carrying a 1,000-pound bomb on the right wing shackle and a 310-gallon ferry drop tank on the left, shake the Foggia No. 11/Vincenzo airfield as they taxi for takeoff. Over the Adriatic, 48 1st Fighter Group P-38Js of the 27th, 71st and 94th FS flying escorts will join them. One after another over southern Italy, nearly 100 P-38s take wing and climb to altitude, Their target: Ploesti-the major oil refinery complex in Europe and more than 600 miles away across the Adriatic Sea and over the mountains of Yugoslavia. The mission: to dive-bomb the Romano-Americano oil refinery, which is the primary producer of high-grade aviation gasoline for the Luftwaffe. It will be recorded as the blackest day in the history of the American fighter forces in WW II. After the raid, the U.S. formation was intercepted by other German fighters, including Messerschmitt 110s, probably from NJG 100. Lt. Col. Ben A. Mason Jr., Deputy Group Commander of 82nd FG, shot down one of the Bf 110s.

Also attending Tech. Sgt. David Steadman, 455th BG 742nd BS, radio op. and waist gunner on a B-24.
Dr. Goldman, piloted a Waco glider into Holland

Be sure and introduce them to some of the responsible adults (AND me too!)
West Houston has been having guest speakers and we would LOVE to hear their stories at the Squadron mtgs.

You can find me briefing and loading passengers on the revenue rides.
I should be wearing my green bags, unless global warming strikes between now and then! :lol:

Unfortunately, our 'Lady' is still hurting from her collapse in the ditch awhile back.

The C-60 is a classic case of fixing one problem and finding two more.

And some of the mover and shakers on the project have gotten "real" jobs that take them away from their more important restoration projects!
There ought to be an ordinance against such revolting developments!
(did i spell it correctly Mudge-meister?)

Thanks Spanner, some of our guys have been around our 60 over 20 years (me just 12). There is a fair amount of corporate knowledge up here in VA, just ask if you need any help.

I had to leave at 4 on Sunday, but BOTH days the LSFM Hellcat was there.
SWEEEEEET!
And we had a couple of visiting Stearman or would that be Stearmen? or Stearmans? The last is probably it! :lol:

Visiting AT6s made a formation fly-by.
The PT-17, PT-19 and AT-6 AND A MOONEY did land office business for revenue rides.

The LSFM B25 was waiting for low ceilings to lift in San Antonio, so I don't know if it ever did its fly-by on its way back home to Galveston.

I couple of Chinee airplanes made it. I was busy doing stuff, so I couldn't go find out if they were Yaks or Nanchings or flyzonidownhills, but they sure made a grand entrance, and pretty round sounds.

Pics will be posted when they are developed. Yeah, i still depend on chemistry and other balck magic for my photos :roll:
