Our Skybolt had the usual 5 pt system attached to the seat, and a second lap belt attached to the airframe.
Even if the seat failed, the other belt in theorey should hold you in. I think this id]s the standard aerobatic configuration

that's the idea - 2 belts, 2 attach points. doesn't work if you have an ejection seat though, I guess . . .

Snowbird Seatbelts an Old Problem
Canadian authorities have known for at least five years that the seatbelts in the CT-114 Tutor jets used by the Snowbirds could come open in flight because there was an incident in 2002 similar to the one that led to the most recent fatal crash.
