Just been hanging out at Netwings and they are reporting p61 development add on pacific fighters has stopped due a copyright infringment issue on either aircraft or engine outlines ( p&W or northrop grumman )

I hope this is not the case as it has rammifcations for us all.... :(

I'd like to see the explanation behind the cancellation. If it is as speculated this sets a very bad precident for the entire flight sim community.

As far as I know, If those aircraft were designed under contract to the US Govt, they cannot copyright the airframe as they were paid for by public funds.

Then again, I could be totally wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. :)

Hi,
Suppose it was only a question of time,
everything else has to pay for use of a badge etc,
so probably next will be the model kits and the magazines/books, etc.
it's a mad world...........
cheers

The word from the top is the P-61 has been canceled and currently no further add-ons of Northrop, Grumman, or Vought aircraft will be done, and that no further explanation will be given. "Oh yeah, we stopped developing it, and we're not going to tell you why or even why we won't tell you", is a rather dissapointing answer.

I'd like copyright on just the following letters A E I O U, every time they are written. My rates would be very reasonable, say £0.001 each time :D

As you said, its a mad mad world and will it get any better...

Doubt it!

Tony

That's £0.134 I now owe myself

address to write to in text : -

'What can you do? You can write Mike’s congressman at this address:

Congressman Robert Andrews
2439 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Trust me, if he gets thousands of letters from modelers in the United States asking him to take action, Action Will Be Taken. '
