Any experts out there on Greenland wrecks?

1. Status of My Gal Sal?
2. Has Sooner and Alabama Exterminator been recovered or any plans?
3. Plans to recover remains of Kee-Bird?
4. Any activity on the most recent German attempt to recover remainder of Lost Squadron?
5. Any others besides above?

regards,

t~

My Gal Sal has practically finished being restored. I don't know if she is on display to the public yet. You can see the details of the recovery and restoration here...

With regards to the rest, I am unsure, but I think no progress is being made on any of them with the exception of the recovery of the remains of Kee Bird. It was reported elsewhere in this forum that the guys restoring "Doc" are potentially going to recover some/all of her remains.

Cheers,
Richard

I've heard there is also an A-20 Havoc on the icecap.

Are you speaking of the a-20 resting close to Goose Bay ? Was illustrated in Aeroplane not long ago.

Has anyone had a discussion with Bob Ready about whether he actually recovered "sooner" or the G model?

Additionally, Larkins site mentions Alabama Exterminator. Wonder if Gary recovered her??

According to the 'Hunting Warbirds' book they couldn't find the 'Sooner' or the other B-17 they were searching for.

Regarding the original question, I recall reading that those Air Pirates guys had found that there were about 60 planes up there, one being an A-20. I think they had secured the rights to 6 of them, if I remember correctly.
