I saw that too. Looks like fun. I probably wouldn't fit in it though. What do you think the landing speed would be in that little guy?

I believe the pilot was the owner of the company, but not the designer of the aircraft. The crash was not due to a design flaw apparently.

The series seems quite safe in the US. The two other instances resulted in only minor injury:

I understand there was a fatality in the UK in one of the War Aircraft Replicas aircraft.

They have a Sea Fury too! Might make a nice Tempest conversion.

That's a nice shot of the 190 as it's "tucking up" its gear. On my 'ol 'puter
these images taxed my system(didn't get a full download of the cutaway).
The "tuck-up" image is grainy(here)..but its pretty good..looks like
some of the grainy WW2 color or hand-colored blk/wht images.

A coupla' years ago I was coming from California on I-10, and there
was a War 190 parked on a little desert strip on the north-side of I-10.
I can't remember whether it was before or after Quartzite.

As for a WIX plane...I ain't sittin' on anyones lap...or being carried under
one of the "hard-points"!!!

I thought that was a 3/4 scale Jurca design there, but I may be wrong.

Let's see now, I can buy a T-6 prop, or a 1/2 scale FW-190 project... Which shall it be? :lol:

Did you mean the I-10 FW 190 replica? ..or what we're looking at here?
If you meant the I-10 replica, it could have been a Jurca. I was driving
a fully loaded U-Haul with truck-on-trailer 70+mph. My sister was a
passenger and she had read the"Do Not Exceed 55mph" liberally pasted
on the rear fenders of the trailer...her eyes were as big as saucers, as
she kept saying 55mph is what it says! I replied, "That is only a suggestion
for the inexperienced"...hammer down!!!! Makin' Time fer Pima!!!!

I had'nt the time for Chino...I was not gonna' miss Pima and Davis Mon.
even though they were short visits!! Quartzite was a bonus..I saw the
orange Bomarc or Snark on the southside of I-10..so I rationalized..It
might be time for a break. She sat in the A/C in the truck, while I fotoed
the relics. Break Over!!!...Hammmer Down!!! Onward to Tucson!!!!

ps
I have Tons-of -experience towing odd-loads. Trailer bearings were
heat-checked at frequent fuel stops...had a well balanced no-whip trailer..
and was on a trafficless weekday.

Yes.

I think that Kalifornia law for trailers is 55 MPH max. I've seen 45 MPH max stenciled on some of those smaller U-Haul trailers though.

If Arizona, before or after Quartzite?

I think it was in Kalifornia. I never saw it in person, but it was on a website for a museum (which I can't find now).
