Warbird Information Exchange

I passed by the RCAF Museum today at CFB Trenton (I live in the area) to see how they are progressing on the new addition.

The front of the building is still open, but looks like they might soon be ready to install the glass. It also looks like the concrete floor hasn't been poured yet either.

I heard that when the Halifax moved into the new building that the Tracker would slip into the area where the Halifax was being previously restored. The Tracker is still outside and the opening where the Halifax moved out of has since been closed in.

The Auster is no longer in the airpark, but I don't know if it was moved inside. I can't really see the Auster lasting too long outside in the Canadian winter anyway.

So, there was talk that the building could be ready for some visitors in mid December.

Our wait might be a little longer.

Hi Mike,

Did they tell you what the plans are for NA337 the coming months? When will the landing gear be extended and the wings attached? Or will they pain her before that.

I was just passing by and didn't even step out of my car. I can just imagine that the guys working on her can't wait to bolt the wings up and extend her gear!

Shame on me for not posting.....
dad was at trenton doing some repair work at a Mill? there.. Anmyways he went by the museum but sadly they had closed. He said that the halifax has been turned round now sonce it was moved into the building. He said that the tail is now pointing towards the argeus with the nose looking back at her old home. He said that she was covered in plastic while work on the building was continuing.
I wish their website was better updated....

Yes, you're right about that, the last time their site was updated was summer 2002. Talking about a delay..............

They were supposed to be updating the website ages ago with the latest news but I guess it is much more important for them and us to ahve the halifax worked on and completed ...! ;0)

I took a few quick pictures tonight of Hailfax NA337 through the front windows of the new RCAFM addition just to give everyone an update.

There is still some work to do......

That is quite a building that she is calling home! T'is a shame she will not get to be rolled out when she is completed....
