Gun Turret Pics

Sun Mar 09, 2008 11:09 am

Looking for pics of all the gun turrets that were used on ww2 warbirds, as a youngster had a chance to sit in a ball turret and top turret of a B17 at an airshow and was facinated at what the gunner had to go thru to manipulate the guns and track a fleeting fighter, the ERCO ball turret and side turrets used on the Navy Privateer are very interesting :)

Malo,

Here is the Martin 250 they have at the CAF hangar at Midland. I think it was intended for the B-24, you'd have to ask someone from down there about it's history.

Do you know who did the reproduction glass on the A-6B Tail Turret? I need a full set for my A-6B.

Carl Scholl at Aero Trader will be able to help with the A-6B turret plastic.

Was looking at the Symposium pics and the photo with the Nose gun turrets lined up the first one is said to be a tail turret off of a P2V, with the glass nose next to it. My ? is that the nose turret looks like it is off of a P4M-1 Mercater??? I know that none of them survived but could that nose turret have been salvaged off of one of them prior to going to the crusher?
