I am the daughter of deceased WWII Veteran and I need help but don't know where to get it. Maybe you can help!
I have a paper that says, "Enlisted Record And Report of Separation Honorable Discharge GDF" which was my Fathers. * Dad's birthday was April 6, 1927 and I don't know anything about the abbreviation
or the numbers on this.
Anything to help would be great. I have spent 12-16 hours at my computer trying to get this and to do as I told my Dad I would. Some day I hope to find my Brother whom was born before Dad married Mom and tell Him how much Dad wanted to see him and how much he wanted him to know. You see, my Dad wouldn't talk about him much on count of hurting Mom. When he started to talk about him, it was too late, my Dad took Alzimers and couldn't tell us anything. Now he is passed away and I have to do all I can to find my brother. I know his Mom's name was Gretta and she came from Germany, he was born in Texas and it was 1945 or 1946 but that's all I know. Not much but I have a promise to my Dad to keep. There are eight of us girls and we really want to find him if we can.

You can request additional military information from the
National Personnel Records Center.

Some of the information you have on the discharge papers will
help to complete the form (SF-180.)

You also need to be the person requesting the info or next of kin.

It can take several months for a reply because the reply is a
package of hand zeroxed pages.
(Type of info can be; units assigned to, where and when stationed,
schools, promotions, etc.)

Good luck.

Bill
